***(SPOILERS) if you are not caught up on LOST***
Last week was the season finale for LOST! First off, I just want to state that this was the best season of the show that I have seen yet! There were several intimate story plots for each character and the planning to tie everything together is getting so complicated it is interesting to see how things turn out.
My current thoughts:
-That they are all on a constant loop and someone from home, who got away the first time (Walt) needs to do something to reset everything.
Watch outs:
-I read an article about Walt, Michael's son on the show. It said that he plays an important part in the ending of the show.
-There are also rumors about LOST: The Movie...
-The tag line for next season is "destiny finds them." Interesting how they do not find destiny.
-Pay attention to the number 42...
-"Live together, die alone."
Questions:
-What's with the Polar Bears?
-What's in Hugo's guitar case?
-Why is Richard still alive?
-Jacob?
-What's the deal with Aaron?
Fun:
-Please try to research everything about this show. Most of the character names mean something, are from the past, or are anagrams. Look at the books they read on the show. Also check out some of the other things that J. J. Abrams has done. He hides ideas and reuses characters in other things...And finally, pay attention to the VIRAL MARKETING!!!
Universe:
-This show is strictly about time travel focusing on going back and forth to redirect the past, present, and the future. It will be interesting to see how they incorporate destiny into the ideas that they currently use. I could see this show eliminating the idea of free will...At the same time twisting what we know about free will and destiny to breed some new hybrid idea of free will and destiny.
***(SPOILERS) if you are not caught up on Fringe***
It is hard to say where this show is going to end up...It has just completed its first season. Fringe is actually a more interesting show in the fact that it feels more real. LOST deals with this great island, numerous unanswered questions, and the show drags the viewer along on this ride while we all try and figure more out about this show. Whereas Fringe lets the viewer use these theories to open their minds more about life over the show. I am not going to say too much about Fringe because I know that most of you do not watch it...
Interesting:
-We learn that one of the main characters has been dead for the past 24 years. That means there was some parallel universe travel by one of the other characters so that they could all live together. This theme shows itself early on as some of the characters do not remember things from the past (because they are new to this universe and their new past choices they are not sure about).
-Fringe and LOST both have the same important filtered character.
-This is the first show to play with the idea of time/universe in relation to the World Trade Center.
-One of the surprise characters this show was searching for through the entire season is from the original Star Trek; J. J. and his self promoting...
Universe:
This show plays with time travel along to other parallel universes. LOST uses the time travel to cover large gaps in time, while Fringe covers smaller gaps, or just traveling to a different universe on the same time stamp as us. Think of life as a large branch. One straight line at first but then there is a choice to be made. You go to work, but in another universe on our time you do not go to work and both lives keep living on and more choices are made. That is where Deja Vu comes into play. Deja Vu is a look into the path that we did not take.
I hope this is all not too confusing. Give me a call and we can share a beer and talk about the universe!
