Every Time I Die New Junk Aesthetic: A Review

I have been waiting for this album to come out for the last year or so! I have been following all of the guys on Twitter while they have been dropping clues about the album and recording it!

This is there fifth full length album, but they do have a shitty EP out as well. Every album that they have released you have heard and seen a clear growing in the band. They have matured from that screaming band to a band that is not scared to try new things. With that maturity they went back to their old sound with this album. This is a very heavy album, but it shows their maturity as well. Keith (the lead singer) has taken voice lessons and the band takes more time to focus on their own art. When they do sing (and not scream) they play with different looping and voice over effects. The screaming is better as well because you can hear the notes instead of just the wailing scream. The music is very heavy as well, and they have tried to be more artistic with how they finalize everything! The feedback features in the music are a nice treat for the listener!

Look for appearances on this album by The Dillinger Escape Plan and Fall Out Boy! I am trying to read into his lyrics now and figure out where he is trying to go with this album. (Keith majored in English and all of his lyrics are VERY poetic!) (That will be posted in the next few weeks!)

The Chicago Bears

Finally preseason has ended and now we can get the actual interesting game play underway! The Bears went 3-1 in the preseason and looked very good this year! The offense has completely turned around and we have a quarterback and several young receivers that will impress lots of fans this year!

The only rough spot for the Bears would have to be their secondary. They did look good but it is very unpredictable.

The Bears will win 10 or 11 games and either make or just miss the playoffs because the NFC North is looking good as well.

...And like College, I will not be doing any fantasy until the playoffs start.

The Illinois Fighting Illini

Every year for a while now Illinois has opened up their season playing against rival Missouri. The last two years Missouri has been a highly ranked team and we have kept up with them. Last years game was amazing with records being broken by both teams. But this year Missouri came in as a team that was rebuilding and Illinois was the team that just missed being ranked in the preseason polls...And we got manhandled.

Maybe Illinois just came out a bit rusty, but this was supposed to be the year that they were going to make a big run in the Big Ten and the BCS! Call me a hopeless fan, but I still think that they can turn this around with a few big wins this season. I think that you will see Illinois in a bowl game this year and will finally win! Keep in mind I am not talking about a BCS bowl game, but anything is better than last years disappointment.

As for the rest of College Football; it is starting to look like a good year with a few big upsets already!

As for fantasy; I will not be playing any fantasy games until the bowl games start, so stay tuned!

Halloween II Review

This film caught me off guard from the beginning. I went into it thinking that there was going to be several moments when I was going to embarrass myself by jumping out of my seat. Rob Zombie clearly studied the first six original films, minus the third one because that is the one with the masks eating people and has nothing to do with the story.

This film, like his first one, was more about Michael in the sense that he had something wrong with him mentally. It made you feel bad for him and his family. This film is also very poetic in the symbolism and the multiple amazing "tip of the hats" that Rob slices in to pay homage to the originals!

Rob took a thirty second scene from the original Halloween and made it most of the story for this film! Not to mention this film is parts two, four, five, and six of the originals...So amazing and well put together!
